Dear Scrubby Puppy,

As you can see, we have plenty of pictures of our Petey. I can’t remember when we started coming in to Scrubby Puppy for self-wash, but I believe it was close to when you opened shop. We live at the golf course, so it’s very convenient to just load up Petey in the golf cart and putt on over to Scrubby Puppy.

From the first time we went in to Scrubby Puppy, and every time since, we have been greeted by friendly, well-trained employees who are always willing to help lift him in and out of the tub, refill shampoos, bring extra towels, empty glands, or whatever is asked of them. And Petey always greets them with a paw-shake, which tells me he senses a warm and loving vibe. But what really impressed me was the 2nd time we went into Scrubby Puppy, they called Petey by name! Out of all the doggies they service, they remembered our Petey.

We love Scrubby Puppy and would highly recommend them to anyone who asks.

We have been going to Scrubby Puppy for 15 years and would never consider going anywhere else! Tony and Val and all the staff are AMAZING. They are all so kind and patient with all the dogs. My senior dog Bridgette gets so excited when she knows she is going for her "spa" day.

Our other dog Bear started getting groomed when he was just a puppy. He was so scared at first but Tony calmed his nerves and now he loves to be groomed.

We started coming to Scrubby Puppy in the early 2000s with our family dog Whitney for self wash. In 2017 when I had my own family and Barkley, I knew exactly where to bring him for grooming. I love knowing that he won't be caged and that he will be cared for like he is one of their own pets. Fred joined our family in 2021 and of course he became a Scrubby Puppy too.

You say the word Scrubby Puppy and Barkley runs to the door. He has the best wiggle butt around and it's in full swing the minute he see's Scrubby Puppy's door. Jose is Barkley's absolute favorite groomer and we will even change grooming dates to make sure Barkley gets Jose because they love each other that much.

We love Scrubby Puppy and are so thankful for all the years of love and care they have given our dogs. We wouldn't trust Barkely and Fred with anyone else!

We Were Saved

I first brought my shaggy 75-pound Briard to Scrubby Puppy on 9/30/2019. He was just 1 1/2 at the time. I had tried a few self-wash shops that were not ideal, then I remembered Scrubby Puppy had donated to our fundraising event, so I decided to try them. We were saved. Scrubby was clean, well organized, easy to schedule, and set up amazingly well. Oddly, not all self-washes are. Bodie only tolerated baths, but always shoved his way in the door enthusiastically when we arrived.

Scrubby owners and staff were always kind and helpful whether we were there for self-wash, nails, a blow dry after his self-wash, or a "sani". (If you have a long-haired dog, you should definitely ask about a sani trim!) Val helped me with scheduling many times, and Tony offers tutorials if you are a first-timer. All staff are attentive to clients' needs and will check in with you if you so much as glance their way.

Following surgery at one point, I wasn't able to both wash and dry Bodie. I would wash, and the crew would blow dry. That saved his coat from being shaved and got us through the months until I could take over again. Very often, it was Malynda who dried him, and they worked very, very well together (I think she bribed him); but Bodie was comfortable with everyone on the crew. I watched and heard some dogs who were not at all happy to be groomed, but every one was treated with kindness, skill, and patience.

I brought Bodie to Scrubby almost every week until 9/6/26, when cancer took him from me. We went to Scrubby for seven years! I will always be grateful to the Scrubby crew for helping me keep my boy clean, healthy, and happy throughout his life.

Brian and I have taken our pups to Scrubby Puppy for about ten years. I love how they treat the dogs in their care and their owners.

Our dog, Atticus, is a feisty cockapoo who hadn’t been groomed for a very long time when he first arrived at Scrubby Puppy. A muzzle was needed to shave off the matted pelt that reflected his state of neglect. Now, a year and a half later, he excited comes to Scrubby Puppy to see his friends who understand his foibles.

I’ve been going to Scrubby Puppy to bathe my dogs for a while now, and we always have a really good experience.

Everyone there is so friendly and welcoming, and you can really tell they genuinely care about the dogs.

I love the self-wash area because they make everything so easy, and I especially like the unlimited shampoo. I also really like that the dogs aren’t just kept in cages while they’re there. They even have cameras in the lobby so you can watch your dog while they’re being groomed, which I think is such a nice touch and gives you extra peace of mind.

It’s just a really comfortable place to bring my dogs, whether I’m washing them myself or bringing them in for grooming. I always feel good bringing them here, and I definitely recommend Scrubby Puppy!

For over 30 years I have taken my dogs for nail care (and the occasional pup that needing grooming) to many groomers from the Mid-Atlantic to the Inland Empire. There is no place that helps dogs feel safe for a nail clip like Scrubby. The secret is they use two professionals: one (or more if needed) to lovingly and securely hold the dog and the groomer to clip. If needed they will take the dog to a quiet environment. They will do what is needed to help the dog. It's the same for grooming. Our dogs' safety and comfort is of utmost importance. Everyone is genuinely kind as well.

My “JoDogs” and I have been regular customers of Scrubby puppy for over ten years, during which time Val and Tony and their expert staff have taken care of a total of five of my beloved pets. Tony and Val are both MASTERS at what they do and all of my dogs have loved them. We have been taking our three Pomeranians to Scrubby Puppy to have their nail clips for years. Totally trust the staff. The Corgeez

The love and excellent service our Corgeez have gotten from Scrubby Puppy is unmatched. Ever since we got our first Corgi, the fun and excitement from staff at seeing him just added an extra special feeling of being part of the Scrubby family. Then we added another. And another.

Pretty sure it was Val, (or maybe Tony?) but one of them coined them the Corgeez and it just makes me smile at how they are welcomed and everyone seems to know their personalities and love them for it. Zion-grumpy old man. Zelie-Wolverine, complete with talons. Zuko- not one brain cell to be found in his fluff.

We also found ourselves making a home with a grand old lady, Francine. A foster fail. Long in the tooth, a potato on stick legs and a just a funny gal. She was immediately met with the same love and care (maybe more!) then her silly siblings. The care that was taken with her unfortunately shaped body and full body Mohawk was gentle and encouraging and always above and beyond expectations. She died in her sleep at the ripe age of 15, and when we let Scrubby Puppy know, they were so compassionate and understanding to us.

In the meantime, we have gained new human family members who brought their pups to our family, too! Thank you for welcoming Nacho, Pixie, and Daisy! And surprise..

Another Corgi, Orca, is the newest pack member, living in Idaho with our son. And, yes, when he visits soon, he will be going to Scrubby Puppy! Sorry, guys, he is also a fluff..with a tail!

Our neighbors who have two goldendoodles recommended Scrubby Puppy to us. I had had a terrible experience at the vet with my rescued Chiweenie during a toenail clipping. I was looking for someone who was qualified and would be willing to clip her nails. It’s almost like God sent us Scrubby Puppy. I can’t say that my Chiweenie loves having her toenails trimmed still but they do it with ease and love. I honestly don’t know what we will do if they should ever close.

Every person who is employed their loves dogs. They actually spoil my Chiweenie when she’s there getting her nails done. I also take her there to have her glands done. She doesn’t mind that at all. And they still do that with love and treats.

I found Scrubby Puppy online after tiring of trying to bathe my dogs at home. My first appointment for self-service was amazing! The staff was welcoming and pleasant. The ambience was really nice with subtle music playing in the background. I have 2- German Shepherds, bringing them one at a time, back-to-back days. Love having the shampoo, towels, dryer and brush provided with the minimal costs of the service. I typically pay a couple of dollars more for a wonderfully smelling conditioner that works well with their coats. After coming here for more than 5 years, I wouldn't think of taking them any place else. If you're looking for a place to do it yourself or staff grooming, look no further than scrubby puppy.

My January 2027 Birthday. I will be 14 years old.

Scrubby Puppy was my first introduction to allowing anyone to touch me – in any way.

My vision was impaired as a puppy and my new mom & dad brought me in for a bath – and other things when I was only six months old. It was difficult to understand the entire process but with the gentle touch and guidance, I have become a pro.

Wow, we've been coming to Scrubby Puppy for so long I'm having a hard time remembering how we first heard about them, lol! I believe it was my sister-in-law, Susan, that told us about their self-wash.

Eventually we started coming for the grooming. Teddy had been "fired" from another groomer who had claimed he was just too wiggly to safely groom. Tony and Val and their staff have never had a problem with Teddy and I am SO grateful for their expertise and love of dogs and all their little quirks.

My name is Layla. The first time I got groomed by Scubby Puppy was May of 2025. I am a very nervous dog with heightened anxiety. Subject: Like Leaving Our Babies with Family

We found Scrubby Puppy when our Lucy was just a pup, after a not-so-nice experience at another groomer. That was 14 years ago. Lucy has since crossed the rainbow bridge, but we’ve continued coming back ever since with her sister, Poppy.

It has always felt like we were leaving our babies with family. Whether it was Lucy, who eventually couldn’t see or hear anymore, or her sister Poppy, who can be quite the stubborn doodle, we always knew they were loved, cared for, and treated with kindness.
